Alemannia returned to professional football: great atmosphere in the nice emperor city.

Bochum is not the most attractive city and VfL not the most attractive club. But this groundhop trip was definitely worth it.

The reconstructed former Wedau Stadion is another stadium in the West too often in the third or four division.

A stadium that is suited for Bundesliga football but Fortuna plays most of the time in the second division.

A nice new stadium for a traditional club playing third division. One light pole of the former stadium is still there.

The new Schalke stadium is very modern for a peoples club like Schalke. A lot of similarities with the stadium in Amsterdam.

All that remains of this legendary stadium in Gelsenkirchen is one of the four floodlight poles.

Normally home of 1.FC Köln but I had the honour of being there at the FIFA World Cup 2006.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen is not the largest club in the West of Germany. But thanks to its sponsors sometimes successfull and always good for signing some stars players.

In the seventies Borussia is one of the top teams in Europe and celebrates a lot of successes at the famous Bökelberg that was demolished early this century.

The new Borussia Park is just a concrete stadium like anywhere else. But the "Nordkurve"ensures a great atmosphere.
