VfL Bochum - SC Freiburg 1-2

The annual football trip with my mate brings us to the Ruhrgebiet again which has a number of fantastic clubs ands stadiums. This time we go at Saturday early afternoon to Bochum. The stadium is packed and the fans of this club, that has had little success over time, are really supporting their team. It all starts with the community singing of the song "Bochum" by local hero Herbert Grönemeyer. The match itself is OK: VfL fights for what its worth but that is not enought against SC Freiburg. After the match we walk into the city center and find a Brauhaus with a good Pilsener and traditional German food.

For the home fans the stadium was sold out. It was a surprise that I could buy tickets via SC Freiburg for the visitor area.
