Köln -
RheinEnergie Stadion
Czech Republik - Ghana 0-2
FIFA World Cup 2006, 17 June 2006
For the World Cup 2006 my wife and I went to Cologne for a day. We parked the car early in the day near the stadium and took the tram to the Altstad. After a walking tour through Cologne and some German food, we walked back to the stadium. The city had a real World Cup vipe with especially many Czech people in town. The Czech were one of the outsiders this tournament with some real stars like Pavel Nedved. Before kick off the traditional "Viva Colonia" sounded through the stadium and already after a few minutes Ghana took the lead. It appeared to be one of the most exciting matches played this World Cup and the Ghanese team won well deserved. A great day and nice experience at the World Cup.
