Alemannia Aachen - FC Hansa Rostock 1-1

The Tivoli Stadium used to be a stadium feared in Germany in the past century for its great atmosphere and fans on top of the pitch. When the new Tivoli was built, too big for the club, it drew the club in bankruptcy and Alemannia played in the Oberliga and Regionalliga for 15 years. In 2025 they were promoted again to the professional footbal in the third division. The new season is successfull and my son and I visit the new Tivoli in one of the last games of the season where there is not so much to play for anymore for the home team. Despite that there are 30,474 spectators: an all time club record. It took us an hour to get into the stadium because of the strong security checks as a result of the reputation of the East German guests. After 35 minutes it started to rain extremely hard with lightnings and the match was temporarily discontinued. The last ten minutes before half time where a true water party and it was almost impossible to play the ball to a team mate unless it it was through the air. Hansa benefited and scored 0-1. In the second half the sun returned and we saw just before our eyes that Alemannia deserved a penalty: 1-1. The atmosphere would probably remember the fans to the old days at the old Tivoli. After the game we went to the old town to see the Dom and Rathaus. In the Rathaus basement we enjoyed a schnitzel before returning home. During our way back we had to park our car along the high way due to the heavy rain, hail and lightning.
