Amsterdam -
De Meer
(demolished)
Ajax - FC Den Haag 3-1
KNVB Beker, Third Round, 5 January 1992
In the last year of high school I was a bit bored in first weekend of the new year. With my free public transport card as student I had free travel so I decided to take the train to Amsterdam, alone. I knew that De Meer would not last so long anymore since a new stadium was being built. De Meer would be demolished in 1996. For this cup match it was possible to buy a ticket at the stadium. I ended up at the stand where the most fanatic Ajax fans were standing behind the goal where no seats are available (F-side). It was early nineties and the start of the famous Ajax team of Louis van Gaal that won a lot of cups. Against FC Den Haag Dennis Bergkamp and Wim Jonk are playing. After the match I took the train back to Weert immediately.
Tickets:
I bought them at ticket office near the stadium.
