(demolished)
Fortuna Sittard - Ajax 0 -2
Eredivisie, 23 March 1985
It is March 1985 and at the age of 11 years old I am visiting a professional football match for the first time. The first 3 games in professional football were all at Stadion de Baandert in Sittard, the former home of Fortuna. In that year Fortuna even reached the quarter finals of the European Cup Winner's Cup and had a very strong team. Half a year later I would go there even by bycicle at a single distance of 28 kilometers with both my parents for the match against FC Utrecht (1-1). The match against Ajax is for me legendary because of the big European stars of Ajax that were on the pitch that day in combinaton with the very characteristic stadium De Baandert that is no longer there.
Tickets:
My father bought that am the ticket offices near the stadium.
