Karlsruhe -
Wildpark Stadion
Karlsruher SC - Darmstadt 98 4-0
2. Bundesliga, 18 October 2026
In the autumn holiday I am making groundhop trip with my son with Stuttgart as main destination. On our way we pass by a number of other football cities but on this Sunday there is only one match in the Bundesliga avaiable on the route: Karlsruhe. Normally I would not drive such a distance for a regular new built German stadium of which you can find a few of similar size and look-a-like. After we leave around 7 in the morning we are at noon in the city named after King Carl who took a nap in the forest and had a palace built on that place. After we parked our car we walked through the Schloss park to the BBBank Wildpark (impossible to pronounce correctly at once). No queu to get in and with of course a German bratwurst we went to our place behind the goal. A great German tradition in football is singing together with the scarves above the head: in Karlsruhe they sing the Baden-Liet together. This song about the province of Baden-Württemberg could have fitted perfectly in the thirties/fourties of the previous century. KSC started the match as last team in the table and they wanted to change this: a perfect start with 2 goals within a quarter and in the end a clear 4-0 victory against the club from this strange city name (Darmstadt, famous from its faxes). After the match we drove further to our hotel in Bad Canstatt / Stuttgart were we would stay for 3 nights.
Tickets:
The stadium was not sold out for the Tabellenletzten, so easy to buy via the club website.
